Valley project hiccups
Just before the last general election, billboards were set up around Wied Blandun, Paola announcing an afforestation programme in four or five phases. Soon after, the minister responsible was seen on TV planting an amount of trees, many of which are growing. I commend this because it is a plus for our environment but since then nothing else has happened.
May I ask what happened to the other phases of rehabilitation of the valley that should have included the former dockyard car park? Do we have to wait until the next election?

Joseph Mercieca.
The valley at Wied Blandun" is my property. When government initiated the afforestation programme just before the last general election it was under a wrong impression that the land had already been expropriated. The fact is that I am still pursueing a law suit for pay, ment for that part of the land that was taken over by government in 1973. As for the area where the afforestation was initiated I had suggested that government could obtain ownershop of same by an exchange with a similar land.which I had indicated years ago. if the Fgura local council is interested in this exchange they can chase my request.
