Qormi 4, Mosta 1
Qormi made it two wins in a row when they cruised past a 10-man Mosta side 4-1 at the Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.
The Yellow-Blacks were all over their opponents right from the outset and took just four minutes when Jorginho dribbled past his marker before firing a low shot that was partially blocked by Mosta goalkeeper Jonathan Debono but in came Daniel Nwoke to stab the ball home.
Mosta's hopes of taking something from the match all but ended on 40 minutes when they were reduced to ten men.
Jeffrey Chetcuti's long pass released Jorginho who fell after being held by Federico Tisbi. Referee Andre Arciola whistled a free-kick and dismissed the Mosta defender as he deemed that he stopped a clear scoring opportunity.
From the resultant free-kick Joseph Farrugia's curling shot flew into the top corner of the net.
The match was all but over four minutes into the second half when Matthew Bartolo's throughball released Aboubaker Bello-Osagie who with only Debono to beat fired the ball into the far corner.
Qormi were now in cruise control and on the hour they added a fourth goal when from a Jorginho corner-kick, Bello-Osagie was first to the ball and headed past Debono.
Mosta managed to pull a goal back on 73 minutes when Mvondo found himself in ample space in the area to lob the ball past Sultana.
Qormi's Joseph Farrugia was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
