100,000 views for Melita's Video-On-Demand
The Video-On-Demand (VOD) service offered by Melita has hit the 100,000th viewing. This milestone was reached within one month from the commercial September 12th launch, the company said.
Customers subscribed to the Entertainment Pack get complete access to OnDemand! Club: a library of TV series, Kids shows, Documentaries, Movies and Music videos and may watch each programme as many times as they want without incurring additional charges.
"We are overwhelmed with the take up of this service and also with the usage trends. People are not only buying the product but they are also using it a lot, and browsing the vast library of content available. Our focus is now to gather feedback from customers on viewing patterns and content preferences in order to enhance our library" commented Ivor Micallef, Melita's Product Manager for Television.
Amongst the key titles in the OnDemand! library one can find series such as Weeds, Dexter, Californication, or CSI. The Kids section is one of the most popular amongst OnDemand! Club users with shows such as Pingu or Barney And Friends being the most watched.
The service is managed by international provider On Demand Group which operates a similar service for leading operators across Europe and the Middle-East including Virgin Media in the UK.
While details are still to be announced, the next upgrade of the product will enable customers to rent very recent movie titles with prices aligned to those of international movie services. The service will include latest and library blockbusters released by the major Hollywood movie studios, Melita said.

i suggest GO should introduce such a service on soccer matches whereas one could pay for the games one chooses to see without requiring a whole package

this is another rip off by our cable tv providers. if u have a modern tv u can do all this for free having just internet connected to the tv, or if u dont have the latest tv model u can attach a media player to the tv which costs just over 100 euro and u can watch all of it free just paying the monthly internet fee, which now a days nearly every house has the internet. when is the government going to do something to stop them from robbing us!!???

So why don't you do that? Who the hell is forcing you to buy Melita?

with the prices that they are charging for this service if you can call it a service because I was told that the signal tends to freeze as many as 20 times an hour, I buy the whole series of what is available on demand on DVD from play.com and it turns out cheaper.

"I was told" is not very accurate is it? Not to mention unfair.
I don't have any issues whatsoever with the OnDemand service, and when I did have issues in the beginning (due to corroded wiring), they were nice enough to send me a technician on a Sunday to fix it. The HD service which I've had for over a year is awesome (although the Netbox does tend to crash sometimes), and the Internet service is the most reliable I ever had.
You should actually use it, before posting nonsense - the usual problem with this country.

Great to hear, annoys me even more as a GO customer, I have been waiting for their interactive package since it's launch but they seem to be dragging their feet with upgrading my ADSL line to cater for this package, will probably change my mind by the time they get round to doing the job...............

GO is not a dynamic company it is very conservative and drags its feet very often, how can a company advertise a service when more than half the population cannot use it because the fibre has not reached them. Wake up GO!
