Russian seaman evacuated

A 45-year-old Russian seaman was evacuated from a vessel 18 nautical miles off Malta after suffering a heart attack.

The man was transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter. The vessel he was on, the oil tanker Transsib Bridge, was anchored at Hurd’s Bank when the evacuation took place. The tanker had been on her way to Malta from Las Palmas, the AFM said.
