A festival marking the 20th anniversary of the opening of Fort Rinella as a cultural heritage attraction was held over the weekend. Organised by Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, the festival featured three British re-enactment groups. The climax yesterday was the firing of the Armstrong 100-ton gun. Fort Rinella is one of a series of four coastal batteries built by the British in Malta and Gibraltar between 1878 and 1886.
