The Msida Bastion Historic Garden, which was awarded the Europa Nostra prize is open to the public today.

Din L-Art Ħelwa (DLĦ) began the project of restoration in 1984, and it was official opened by President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici in September 1995.

In March 2002, DLĦ was awarded the Silver Medal of Honour by Europa Nostra for the historical research and restoration carried out to save the garden and its monuments.

The opening of the garden by Din l-Art Ħelwa is part of the ‘Floriana, Garden City of Malta and more, much more’ event organised by the Floriana council.

The garden will be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There will be guided tours at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Admission is free, but donations to DLH, 133, Melita Street, Valletta, will be much appreciated.
