Discounted Norma tickets for students
The Astra Theatre in Victoria will present Bellini’s Norma on Thursday and Saturday. Two hundred tickets will be offered to Maltese and Gozitan students (up to 25 years) on a first-come-first-served basis for Thursday’s performance at €10 instead of €50.

Two hundred tickets will be offered to Maltese and Gozitan students (up to 25 years) on a first-come-first-served basis for Thursday’s performance at €10 instead of €50. Accompanying adults, if any, will also benefit from a 20 per cent discount (€40 instead of €50).
The Astra management’s initiative is to enable students to familiarise themselves with opera and enjoy the experience of this art form. The initiative was first introduced in 2008.
The opera Norma sees a cast of high repute with Greek soprano Dimitra Theodossiou in the title-role, Italian tenor Antonino Interisano as Pollione, Romanian mezzo-soprano Oana Andra as Adalgisa and Italian bass Dario Russo as Oroveso.
Soprano Dorienne Portelli will play Clotilde while tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens steps into his first ever opera role as Flavio. The Astra Theatre Opera Chorus will be under the direction of Maria Frendo, while Joseph Vella will conduct the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
Stage direction will be in the hands of Enrico Stinchelli.
