Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts recently celebrated the work its hotels around the world are doing to try to enhance their local destinations with a Responsible Business Week.
In partnership with National Geographic’s Centre for Sustainable Destinations, Intercontinental hotels took part in activities to help their location remain an appealing place to visit for future generations.
Building on the success of last year’s Responsible Business Day, the initiative was extended to a week. Also new this year was ‘Pip the Emperor’, the penguin mascot used worldwide for the week.
Intercontinental Malta employees assisted Pembroke council and Nature Trust Malta in cleaning up the Garigue Heritage Trail in Pembroke, carried out voluntary work at Gaia Foundation’s indigenous tree nursery in Golden Bay, learned how to become an eco citizen, visited Ħaġar Qim and planted trees at Ta’ Qali’s National Park.
A team also participated in ‘It’s A Knockout’ at MFCC, Ta’ Qali, in aid of Inspire.
