Ballerina Nicola Micallef successfully got through an audition to attend a prestigious one week Royal Ballet course at White Lodge.
Guest teachers from the Royal Ballet School and other leading companies join staff from the Royal Ballet School to make up a distinguished teaching faculty, providing classes in a variety of dance styles, under the guidance of director Gailene Stock.
The Royal Ballet School’s mission is to train and educate outstanding classical ballet dancers for The Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and other top international dance companies, and in doing so to set the standards in dance training, nationally and internationally.
Micallef represented Malta among another 23 countries. She experienced life as a vocational dancer participating in classical ballet, character dance, creative dance, pointe work, repetoire and street dance classes.
Micallef received a lot of support and encouragement from her teachers. At the end of the week, she took part in a demonstration.
Micallef feels honoured to have had this opportunity.
