McFadden: James McFadden looks unlikely to make his second Everton debut in tomorrow’s league clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage as he continues to work his way back to full fitness. McFadden rejoined the Toffees on a free transfer this week but he has not played a competitive game in over a year due to a serious knee injury.

Montolivo: Fiorentina are not likely to part with Riccardo Montolivo in January despite his contract running out in June. So far, Fiorentina’s attempts to make Montolivo sign a new deal proved futile. “I don’t think that he will go in January,” Fiorentina president Mario Cognini said. “That’s because it is Fiorentina’s aim to actually reach some important objectives at the end of the campaign.”

Red Bull NY: Red Bull New York booked their place in the MLS play-offs with a 1-0 victory over Eastern Conference rivals Philadelphia Union. The win means New York reach the play-offs at the expense of Western Conference outfit Portland Timbers, who needed the Red Bulls to lose at the Red Bull Arena if they were to have any realistic chance of making the post-season in their final game of the regular season this weekend.

Pennant: Stoke boss Tony Pulis will check on the condition of winger Jermaine Pennant ahead of tomorrow’s league clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Former Gunner Pennant has been experiencing some trouble with his hamstring lately.

Fabregas: Barca midfielder Cesc Fabregas is fit to return to league action today after being sidelined for three weeks by a hamstring injury. “Cesc is fit again. He was given the all-clear,” Barca said.
