PM to attend euro zone heads of government meeting in Brussels
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi shall be attending a European Council meeting and a meeting for heads of government of euro zone countries, being held in Brussels on Sunday.
European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and Dr Gonzi today discussed the financial and economic situation in Europe in preparation for the meetings.
Mr Van Rompuy informed Dr Gonzi that Sunday's meeting would continue on Wednesday evening.
In view of these developments, the Prime Minister would not be able to attend the meeting for heads of Commonwealth countries being held in Australia.
Foreign Minister Tonio Borg will be representing Malta at this meeting.

Perhaps, he went to try again and get Malta's loan backed by collateral as he previously said.
But normally empty handed he goes and so he returns.
Still expecting signs of a 'Rebbiegha Gdida' s EFA promised.
