BUGEJA. On October 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO, of Qormi, aged 74, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carrie, his children Joseph, Anton and Ivan, their spouses Karen, Carmen and Romina, his granddaughter Martina, other relatives and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe, Legal Procurator Victor Bugeja and his wife Marthese, Josette and her husband Andrew Grillage, Paul, and grandchildren Liliana, Charlon, Kurt, Sarah, James and Danielle, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for the Gozo Cathedral, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Cemetery, Xewkija. CASHA. On October 15, SUSAN of Gżira, residing in Pembroke, aged 80, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Annette and Maryrose and her husband David, her grandchildren Marylou, Riccardo, Kristian, Jessica Nathalia and Jaden, her great-granddaughter Emily, her sister Victoria and her brother Joe, their respective spouses, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. JUUL-NIELSEN. On October 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, JESPER, (Founder and General Manager of Jesper’s Danish Bakery), passed away peacefully to a better life at the age of 50 years. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Julia, née Grima, his daughters Monika and Gilbert Farrugia, Ania and her husband Terence Borg, and Magda and her boyfriend Christopher Friggieri, his grandchildren Amy, Andrè and Emily, his father Vagn and his wife Signe, his brothers and sisters Kirstin, Henrik, Anna, Lea, Stinne and their families, his wife’s brothers and sisters Mary Mallia, Joseph F., John and Monica, Christopher and their families, other relatives, colleagues and numerous friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.15 p.m., and proceeds to St George parish church, Qormi, where Mass præsente ­­­­cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. to celebrate his life followed by interment in the Grima family vault at the Resurrection Cemetery, Qormi. MIGGIANI. On October 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, aged 82, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Emmanuel and his wife Noelene, Anthony and his wife Anita, Joseph and his wife Josienne and Bernard and his wife Carmen Rose, as well as her grandchildren Shaun, Karl, Francesca, Martina, Rebecca, Matthew and his wife Victoria. The funeral will be held today at 8.30 a.m. at Our Lady of Graces Sanctuary, Żabbar. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SCIBERRAS. Tragically, on October 15, MICHAEL, aged 37, of Rabat and living in Lija, proprietor of Pools ‘R’ Us and formerly of HSBC, beloved husband of Joanne, née Vella, and a devoted father to Jeremy John. He also leaves to mourn his loss his parents Joseph and Margaret, née Holmes, his brother Jeff, his grandparents Josephine Holmes and Rita Sciberras, his in-laws Benny and Mary Rose Vella and their children Sharon and her husband Mimmo Cucchiara, Mario, his nephews Saviour and Christian, other relatives and friends in Malta and the U.K. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3.15 p.m. for St Mary of Jesus church (Ta’ Ġieżu) in Rabat where funeral Mass will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. Heritage, biodiversity tours

People interested in learning more about the country’s biodiversity and culture can take advantage of the monthly tours held around Malta and Gozo.

The biodiversity tours, which were highly popular last year, are being organised for the second time by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority. The authority is also holding a separate monthly heritage tour.

The tours started this month and will continue until April.
