Four TV stations will switch off their analogue transmitters at the end of the month as Maltese television broadcasts turn completely digital.

TVM, Net TV, One and Smash TV have been transmitting simultaneously in analogue and digital but from November 1 they will transmit solely in digital.

Digital TV offers viewers a better picture and sound quality, a wider variety of free-to-air channels and an electronic programme guide. Education 22 and Favourite Channel are already in digital. Viewers will need a UHF aerial and a digital decoder or a digital television set.
