Qala recently had three fantastic nights of folk music and entertainment with the Qala Folk Group supported by Ta’ Seguna Folk Band, and groups from Belarus, Italy and Ireland, followed by songs by Freddie Portelli, making this international folk festival bigger and better than last year’s.

Many Gozitan residents and visitors from Malta and tourists enjoyed themselves immensely. Credit for this goes to Qala mayor Paul Buttigieg and all the councillors for all their hard work to make this event a success.

Thanks is also due to Qala’s archpriest, Canon Joe Zammit, for allowing the use of church premises.

The festival’s attractions included the re-enactment of a traditional Qala wedding and a handcraft exhibition.
