The European Union Programmes Agency will next year introduce in Malta a new Comenius action called Individual Pupil Mobility which gives secondary school students the opportunity to spend between three and 10 months in a school abroad.

The action is carried out between secondary schools that are, or have been involved in a Comenius school partnership together. The schools can apply for grants to send students to one or more of their Comenius partner schools.

Students have to be at least 14 and enrolled full-time in their school.

The deadline for the submission of applications is December 1.

Like all Comenius actions, Individual Pupil Mobility gives students a European learning experience and broadens their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages while helping them to acquire the skills for their personal development.

It offers training for teachers involved in organising the mobility, and students also receive training to prepare for their stay abroad.

An information meeting on the action will be held on October 24 at 10 a.m. at the EUPA premises, Valletta. To register or for further information call 2558 6130 or e-mail llp.eupa@gov.mt.
