The Michael A. Sant Memorial Lecture will be held at the National Curriculum Centre, Farsons Street, Ħamrun on Wednesday at 5.45 p.m.

It is organised by the History Teachers Association and the University’s Faculty of Education

A paper entitled ‘A hundred years of history teaching and learning in Malta’ will be presented by George Cassar and Yosanne Vella, HTA president and vice-president respectively, and University academic members of staff.

A promotional video clip regarding the history option will also be introduced and shown by Adrian Zahra, HTA public relations officer and webmaster.

This is the 10th edition of this annual event, which was launched in 2002 in memory of Michael A. Sant (1934-1999), a pioneer of modern history teaching in Malta.

During the past 10 years various history pedagogy experts have been invited to Malta to present the latest findings and research on the subject.

This year the HTA, in collaboration with the faculty, will launch another book featuring the material presented during the past five memorial lectures. The publication, entitled History Teaching And Learning: Bridging The Theory / Practice Divide (Vol. 2), may be bought during the event.
