I read the article Church Home Feels Pinch As Plans To Expand Are Shelved (October 12) about Dar Sant’Anna, the house for the elderly in Senglea having no funds to repair the ceiling of four unused rooms that could be reformed into bedrooms. Residents pay about €600 a month. Can’t those responsible for the running of the house ask for assistance from the government? The government is helping in the Greek bailout. Charity should begin at home where it is needed most.
