Two men were this morning given two years probation each after they pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag, a mobile phone and official documents and slightly injuring a woman.

The two had picked up a woman from Paceville and together they went for an ice cream in St Paul's Bay.

At one point, the woman wanted to leave, but they told her she could not. So she walked out of the car and the two men drove off with her handbag.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani gave the two men a stern warning telling them they should be ashamed of themselves and that this was not the way to repay their parents.

The two men are both first time offenders and the magistrate told them to make sure they stayed that way.
