Helicopter airlifts cruise passenger to hospital

A helicopter of the Malta-based Italian Military Mission this morning airlifted an 83-year-old British passenger from a cruise ship to Malta after she fell ill.

The ship was sailing on its way to Dubrovnik when the passenger was taken ill.

An AB-212 helicopter piloted by a joint crew of the Italian airforce and the AFM evacuated her to Malta for urgent treatment. The ship was some 30nm off Malta when the incident happened.
