The Malta Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) is holding a series of talks tomorrow in the KSU Common Room to mark World Mental Health Day. The programme is as follows:
11 to 11.45 a.m. ‘What is counselling? Who needs counselling?’, by Jenny Zammit.
11.45 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. ‘Anxiety disorders, depression’, by psychiatric trainees.
12.30 to 2 p.m. ‘Mental health among University students. What is the situation? How to avoid stress’, by Maryanne Lauri and David Cassar.
The campaign’s main aim is to raise awareness and combat the stigma associated with such conditions, so that those in need can seek the required help.
The campaign will also involve students distributing leaflets on campus and MMSA members delivering talks on mental health issues to Sixth Form students.
MMSA would like everyone to wear a green accessory or item of clothing tomorrow, as the symbol for mental health is the green ribbon.
