This letter comes after many months of a very poor bus service for Fgura: Route 91 is simply ridiculous.
Since this route came into service, I must be at the bus stop by 6 a.m. if I have any hope of reaching work on time at 8. I have at least an hour’s wait before I find myself able to cram on whichever bus actually stops; they’re always full- up.
Why aren’t larger bendy buses used for Fgura when the amount of commuters surely warrants it? Even leaving from Valletta terminus, a bus can take up to an hour to arrive and by that time the amount of people waiting causes pandemonium when a bus arrives and it’s everyone for themselves. I’ve seen Arriva personnel at Fgura bus stops taking notes, yet the situation remains as bad.
Despite the amount of people on the buses, the drivers have to be asked to turn on the air conditioners. We keep reading that there’s an improvement but certainly not for Fgura. I dread to think what commuters are going to put up with once it starts raining heavily.
