Two Britons were airlifted to Mater Dei Hospital yesterday afternoon in separate incidents after they both felt sudden chest pains while swimming in Comino. The first man felt a “piercing chest pain” at about 12.30 p.m. and he was immediately taken to hospital aboard the Air Wing’s Alouette helicopter, the army said. Soon afterwards, at 1.48 p.m., the second man saved also felt a pain in his chest while swimming and he too was ferried to hospital by helicopter.
Their condition was described as “stable”.
