And the duo sprinted to landmark times at the Diamond League last month, Bolt running the fastest 100m this year and Blake the second fastest 200m in history.

Boxing: Guillermo Jones, who has defended the WBA cruiserweight crown only once since winning it in 2008, will risk his title next month. The 39-year-old Panamanian will face American Mike Marrone on November 5 at Hollywood, Florida. A winner of his past six fights, Jones is 37-3 with two drawn and 29 knockouts while Marrone is 20-3 with 15 knockouts.

Rugby Union: Centre Manu Tuilagi has added to England’s disciplinary woes at the World Cup with a fine for wearing an illegal gumshield bearing a sponsor’s name. Tuilagi, whose older brother Alesana was punished for the same misde-meanour last week while playing for Samoa at the tournament, was fined $7,500 for wearing the wrong mouthguard in England’s game against Georgia.

Doping: Sri Lanka has sacked its entire sports medical unit over allegations that staff were linked to banned steroids used by cricketers and national athletes. Sports Minister Mahindananda Althugamage or-dered the complete overhaul of the unit following positive tests for cricketer Upul Tharanga, national rugby players and boxers.
