Polish couple plead not guilty to importing heroin

A Polish couple were this morning remanded in custody after they pleaded not guilty to importing and being in possession of a kilogramme of heroin.

Bartosz Jacek Goldzinski, 26 and Weronika Jakubowska, 18, both of Warsaw, arrived in Malta last Monday on a flight from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

Mr Goldzinski was carrying capsules containing the drug in his stomach whils Ms Jakubowska carried a large capsule in her private part.

If you send them back to Poland ( to what ? ) without them firstly serving a long sentence in Malta...they will be back again at the first opportunity !!

If they plead ' not guilty ' and are then found ' guilty ' ........double their sentence for wasting the Courts time.

Better for them to be in jail, than on the streets peddling drugs to Maltese people.

Hope so, best and only place for that kind of "tourist" !! However, maybe better that they are deported back to their country of origin to serve their sentences at that country's expense!
