Amanda Knox has attended Mass in prison and called her grandmother in Seattle last Saturday as she awaits an appeals court ruling that will decide if her murder conviction stands or whether she can be freed after four years in prison.
The verdict for Knox and co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito is expected today.
They were convicted of murdering Knox’s British roommate, Meredith Kercher. Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison, Sollecito 25. They deny wrong doing.
Prison chaplain the Reverend Saulo Scarabattoli said Ms Knox attended Mass and was calm and collected.
Ms Knox’s father Curt Knox said yesterday his daughter spoke to her grandmother in Seattle for about 10 minutes.
The Kerchers, from Old Coulsdon, Surrey, are expected in court today.
