10.30 a.m. The President attends the opening of the Forensic Year Ceremony at the Law Courts, Valletta.

2 p.m. He presides over the Rockestra 2011 post-mortem meeting at San Anton Palace, Attard.

8 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a reception by German ambassador Hubert Ziegler and Mrs Ziegler on German Unity Day at the ambassador’s residence, Lija.

Tuesday

10.30 a.m. The President is presented with a publication entitled Il-Franġiskani Maltin c1482-1965 by Fr Ġorġ Aquilina, OFM, at San Anton Palace.

11.30 a.m. He visits the KSU Freshers’ Week at the University of Malta, Tal-Qroqq.

Noon. Mrs Abela presides over the Malta Community Chest Fund working committee at San Anton Palace.

7 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela preside over a performance of Schumann’s Piano Quintet Op.44 – Anon String Quartet by pianist Cynthia Turner at San Anton Palace.

Wednesday

10 a.m. The President meets the heads of state, Church and private schools at Verdala Palace, Buskett.

Noon. He receives a courtesy call from members of the Gozo Retired Teachers Association at San Anton Palace.

5.30 p.m. He visits the girl guides during the preparation of the Piggy Banks to be distributed for L-Istrina 2011, at the Bank of Valletta Centre, in St Venera.

Thursday

10.30 a.m. The President receives a courtesy call from the executive committee of the Maltese Spanish Chamber of Commerce at San Anton Palace.

11.30 a.m. He receives a courtesy call from Anthony Cassar, Chaudhry Ali Shaukat and Asad Ali Shaukat at San Anton Palace.

12.15 p.m. He receives a courtesy call from the members of the St Vincent de Paul Running Group on the 10th anniversary at San Anton Palace.

6 p.m. He receives a courtesy call from the members of the Neo Catechumenal Way Second Community, Mosta, at San Anton Palace.

1 p.m. He receives a courtesy call at San Anton Palace from the Speakers of Parliament of Small European States who are participating in the sixth conference being held in Malta.

1.30 p.m. He hosts a lunch in honour of the Speakers of the Parliament of Small European States at San Anton Palace.

7 p.m. He presides over the Premju Anzjan tas-Sena 2011 at the Palace, Valletta.

Saturday

10 a.m. The President, accompanied by Mrs Abela, presides over the launching of the publication entitled Tisjir mill-Qalb 2011 in aid of L-Istrina 2011 at The President’s Kitchen Garden at San Anton Palace.

8.30 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a gala dinner organised by the European Cilane Commission at the Palace, Valletta.

Sunday

3.30 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a thanksgiving Mass at San Anton Palace organised by the president and committee members of the Institute of Financial Services Malta on the 50th anniversary of its ­foundation.
