At the University Chaplaincy on October 20 at 8 p.m. there will be the first in this academic year’s series of ‘DVD Nights’ during which the film Prayers for Bobby will be shown. The film is based on the true story of Bobby Griffin, who killed himself at the age of 20 due to the religious intolerance of his family when they found out he was gay.

After the suicide, the film follows the journey of his mother Mary as she follows a path of discovery of homosexuality from the perspective of a loving God.

The first in this year’s series of ‘Question and Answer’ sessions is entitled ‘Caught in the Net’ and will deal with internet usage and addiction. It will be held on October 25 at 8 p.m.

From Tuesday there will be daily Mass at 12.30 p.m. at the University chapel.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mass is also celebrated at 7.20 a.m., and as from Saturday there will be Masses at 7.30 p.m. and9 p.m.

The 9 p.m. Mass on October 22 will be followed by ‘After Ten’ complementary drinks and snacks.

A barbecue for freshers will be held on Friday at 7 p.m.
