The sixth issue of On Parade, the annual publication of the Armed Forces of Malta, will be distributed with The Times tomorrow on the eve of the army’s Open Day.
This publication offers an insight into the operations Maltese troops are involved in, particularly overseas, as well as soldiers’ training, new equipment acquisitions, overhauls and EU-funded projects.
Sunday’s AFM’s Open Day will be held at Luqa Barracks from 10 a.m. This all-day family event will showcase varied skills and work performed by army units.
These include dynamic displays, aerial ropeways, helicopter demonstrations, abseiling and unarmed combat. The newly acquired Air Wing’s Maritime Patrol Aircraft King Air will perform a flypast.
A weapons stand, scale models and other static display stands, assets and capabilities will be set up around the barracks and personnel will be providing detailed explanations to the public. Refreshments, warm meals and a children’s play area will be available. The day will be capped with a Changing of the Guard ceremony and Beating the Retreat by the AFM Band at 6 p.m.
On Parade is designed by Mediamaker Ltd and printed by Progress Press, both members of the Allied Group of Companies. It is edited by the Headquarters AFM’s Public Information Cell.
