The public call for expressions of interest to run the Marsa Sports Village has been extended by a month after potential investors requested more time to evaluate their proposals for the project. The deadline, which was Monday, has been extended to October 25, the Malta Sports Council said in a statement. The government project for Marsa Sports Village – which will have a footprint of 800,000 square metres – looks towards developing the loosely connected area into a privately run village with a sporting and a commercial component. It will include an accommodation complex which will fund the running costs of the various sports facilities on site.
