Jubilee Foods’ range was among other traditional fare and crafts present during the celebration by the Maltese community in London of the feast of Our Lady of Victories.

Attended by President George Abela and Mrs Abela, this annual gathering of Maltese in London celebrates all that is traditional about Malta on an international platform.

Among an exhibition of Maltese arts, crafts and literature, Maltese food and beverages were a key highlight of the event. Dr Abela spent time sampling products that are championing the re-introduction of heritage foods.

Gozo-born Jubilee Foods said its preserves, traditional Maltese coffee and nougat helped to connect expatriates with the island.

“We felt it was important to get involved in this cultural event so that Malta is seen at its best when abroad,” Jubilee Foods said. “Events like these make a positive contribution to the tourism market and we were extremely pleased to make our hand-made, per cent Maltese, natural dishes available.”

The celebrations in London included a concelebrated Mass at Westminster Cathedral. Later Londoners and visitors to the city watched as the statue of Our Lady was carried through the streets.
