Some 100 local entrepreneurs have expressed an interest to take part in a high level political and business delegation to Libya in the coming weeks, Malta Enterprise said.

The dates of the visit, announced by the Prime Minister some days ago, have are still to be determined.

As part of its assistance, ME shall facilitate the organisation of business to business meetings between Maltese entrepreneurs and their Libyan counterparts, particularly through its commercial office in Tripoli, which has now re-opened its doors to provide the services it used to prior to the conflict in the country.

The Tripoli commercial office shall once again act as a central point of contact for all Malta Enterprise services and support for businessmen and entrepreneurs seeking or willing to establish or further commercial and business links throughout the entire Libyan market.

Concurrently, ME is also working on another business delegation to Tunisia which is scheduled for the second week of December and is currently receiving expressions of interest from entrepreneurs who would like to participate.

The visit to Tunisia shall be following up on the leads established through an earlier business delegation held in June, shortly after the uprisings in the country, when ME had also signed cooperation agreements with business promotion agencies in Tunisia.

The delegations form part of the ME's programme for internationalisation events, which also comprises a further two business delegations to Australia and India in the coming months.

Visiting Melbourne and Syndney between October 28 and November 6, the business delegation to Australia will be held on the sides of the CHOGM meeting held in Perth around that time, with ME organising a business forum and a series of one-to-one meetings in each city.

Likewise, the business delegation to India, which will be held between November 27 and December 3, will comprise business fora to attract foreign investors to Malta as well as one-to-one meetings to facilitate trade and business cooperations.

Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the business delegations organised by Malta Enterprise may contact the Internationalisation Unit within the Corporation on 2542 0000 or internationalisation@maltaenterprise.com.
