HSBC staff members walked, cycled, ran and swam through a number of towns and villages in Malta and Gozo to raise funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund’s L-Istrina, last Sunday.

The triathlon was organised by the HSBC Malta Foundation together with the bank’s sports and social committee for HSBC staff members.

The challenge involved a freestyle triathlon beginning with a swim from Ħondoq ir-Rummien in Gozo to Malta, followed by a run around Ċirkewwa and Marfa, cycling to Ta’ Qali National Park and a ‘cool down’ walk to the President’s residential palace in San Anton.

There were no rules restricting the distances participants chose to swim, cycle, run or walk but the overall distance was 50 km.

The sum collected from the triathlon was topped with proceeds donated by staff as part of a recent dress down day, organised specifically in support of L-Istrina.
