Four arrested after drug finds

Four people were arrested after drug finds in Marsascala, Blata l-Bajda and Sliema, the police said yesterday.

The first discovery was made at an apartment in Marsascala last Friday afternoon when the police found two mature cannabis plants with some 200 grams of cannabis leaf as well as a small amount of cannabis resin. A 31-year-old man who lives in the apartment was arrested.

The police also arrested a 23-year-old man from Valletta and a 34-year-old woman from Cospicua at the Blata l-Bajda Park and Ride after they were seen taking drugs during the night.

A 52-year-old man was arrested in Sliema yesterday morning after a search at his residence yielded a considerable amount of methadone. Other items related to drug abuse as well as a small amount of heroin were also found.
