The University of the Third Age (U3E) is accepting applications as from tomorrow from those interested in attending lectures in its 2011/2012 programme.
Lectures will be held from Monday to Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Floriana centre and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sliema centre. The programme starts on October 10.
Each module has a series of eight lectures. The modules are the following: The development of political parties in Malta; EU challenges in the 21st century; Iconography of Maltese artists; Family folklore; Religious confraternities and their activities; The Catholic Church and the new evangelisation; The French in Malta; Why believe?; Baroque culture; Malta’s economy through history; Practical First Aid; Living with dementia; Pensions and their sustainability in Malta; Il-Malti Miktub; Current international issues; An introduction to music appreciation; Hidden heritage in Malta’s national museums; Paul: The man and his message; Health promotion; Art appreciation; Malta’s flora and fauna; German, French and Spanish for beginners.
Applications may be collected from and handed in at the U3E office of the Floriana centre at the Catholic Institute in Floriana, from Monday to Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
