The Malta Qualifications Council is organising a conference on the VQPack Project. The VQPack is co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The aim of the project is to attract the attention of secondary school learners to vocational education and training in development sectors important to Malta and quality of life.
The conference will be held at the Corinthia San Ġorġ, St Julian’s, on Tuesday between 9.30 a.m. and 3.45 p.m.
The VQPack is an information pack for young people, their parents and all educators interested in exploring the world of vocational training.
Vocational education and training in Malta is provided by public-funded institutions such as the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast), the Institute of Tourism Studies and the Employment and Training Corporation, as well as by the private sector in institutions or places of work.
The VQPack focuses on a wide range of programmes of studies available at Mcast and ITS. It provides information on the link between study, training and work environment.
It gives information about courses available within each of the 10 institutes, as well as how these courses can lead young people to a successful career in the various sectors.
The results of the project, which include a 12 DVD pack and various publications will be distributed to all the participants who attend the conference.
Those interested may send an e-mail to Valerie Attard on valerie.a.attard@gov.mt by not later than tomorrow.
The conference will be held in Maltese.
