Depiro sign players

Depiro have applied the finishing touches to their women’s senior squad that will benefit from the McDonald’s sponsorship for another season.

The past 15 years have seen Depiro securing several titles in the women’s game, the streak of successes registered at junior and senior categories on a consistent basis. Last year alone, Depiro won the U-14 and U-16 championships for girls, placed third in the U-20s and won the Super Cup and KO in the national competition.

Furthermore, the club also boasted five U-16 players who won bronze for Malta in a tournament in Andorra. Depiro have been active in the transfer market to strengthen their ranks for the new season.

After a year on loan, Francesca Bianco has now made the move permanent and Depiro have also added three promising youngsters, Emma Grech, Tina DeMartino and Steffi DeMartino, all of whom have national team experience.

The objectives for Depiro in 2011-12 are quite clear as they seek to continue on the success of the past years.

In a statement, Natasha Giorgio, of McDonalds, said that it has been now quite a few years that they have been sponsoring Depiro senior squad.

“The company is very satisfied with the club’s commitment and success and we are sure to see Depiro challenging for the major honours this season,” she said.

“This sponsorship is part of the company’s strategy to help various clubs in different sport.”
