GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) will oversee a record number of drug tests at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to help ensure the cleanest Games possible. To this effect, GSK will carry 6,250 anti-doping tests.

In recognition of this, British Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Romero recently unveiled a 41-metre-wide London 2012 logo on the side of GSK’s headquarters in London.

GSK chief executive officer Andrew Witty said: “We want to celebrate the role we will play in bringing science to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games while carrying out more anti-doping tests than ever before at an Olympics, making the London 2012 Games the cleanest possible”.

As official laboratory services provider for London 2012, GSK has formed a partnership with King’s College London to operate a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory during the London 2012 Games.
