New comedy opens theatrical season at the Catholic Institute
When pandemonium hits!
After the success of the last comedy Il-Mosares by the late Ġemma Portelli, preparations for All In Act Entertainment’s new comedy Babilonja, written by Guido Fenech, are at their most intense.
In this comedy we find Ġannikol Cefai (Guido Fenech) realising his dream of opening a hotel. But weird things start to happen – when his wife’s (Vanessa Cassar) dog Fufu runs away, Julie obviously wants her husband to leave everything behind to go and look for him.
Ġannikol also has two people working for him; Pupul the handyman (Tony Busuttil) and Indri the chef (Renzo Bonello) who never agree on anything, but they have one important thing in common… they both like Rachel the receptionist (Stephanie Calleja). The chaos continues when they both mistake the identity of the health inspector (Ray Sammut) with the building contractor (Frederick Camilleri) and vice versa.
After all this, the cherry on the cake happens when Ġannikol’s twin brother Ġannmari (Brian Farrugia) comes to stay in the hotel from Australia without any notice because he is not aware that the hotel belongs to his brother.
Things turn somewhat confusing when the workers start mixing Ġannikol with Ġannmari and this is what turns the hotel in confusion.
But when the local police sergeant (Snits) has to intervene he only manages to prolong the chaos that was started.
