10 a.m. The President attends the launching of the harvesting of grapes of the Marsovin vineyards at Marnisi Estate, Marsaxlokk.

Tuesday

10.30 a.m. The President visits the premises of the Royal British Legion in Valletta.

Noon. Mrs Abela presides over the Malta Community Chest Fund working committee at San Anton Palace, Attard.

Wednesday

9.30 a.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend Pontifical Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on Independence Day anniversary.

11.15 a.m. The President presides over a conferment ceremony of the National Order of Merit on honorary consuls general and honorary consuls at the Palace, Valletta.

Noon. He lays flowers at the Independence Monument in Floriana.

7 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a concert by the National Orchestra at the Palace, Valletta, to mark the anniversary of Independence Day.

9 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a reception at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta, hosted by the Prime Minister and Mrs Gonzi to mark the Independence Day anniversary.

Thursday

10 a.m. The President receives a courtesy call from Alexia Coppini at San Anton Palace.

10.30 a.m. The President receives Stephen Vella, director of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology Art and Design, at San Anton Palace, Attard.

11.30 a.m. The President receives a courtesy call from Mark Pace, chief executive officer, and other officials of Dentaurum Group, at San Anton Palace.

7.30 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a reception at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana, hosted by Chinese Ambassador Zhang Keyuan, and Mrs Zhang Shufeng to mark the national day of the People’s Republic of China.

Friday

10 a.m. The President receives Leon Azzopardi at San Anton Palace.

10.30 a.m. The President receives the Minister for Health, the Elderly and Community Care Joseph Cassar and the ministry’s permanent secretary Kenneth Grech at San Anton Palace.

2 p.m. The President presides over a meeting of the L-Istrina 2011 core team at San Anton Palace.

Sunday

6 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a concelebrated Mass by Archbishop Paul Cremona at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on the beatification of Sister of Charity Enrichetta Alfieri.
