• A jumble sale in aid of Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamangia, is being held at the parish hall, next to the parish church , up to October 16. Opening hours are daily from 9.30 a.m. until noon and from 2.30 to 7 p.m.

• A prayer meeting will be held at Girgenti, Siġġiewi today at 5.30 p.m. led by the Moviment Madonna tal-Konsagrazzjoni committee. The public is invited to attend. For details view www.ourladyofconsecration.org

• The BoV Valletta Fund Management Philately Club is holding a meeting at the Fatima Sanctuary Convent, Guardamangia, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. For more information call 7931 5509.

• The next MIR prayer meeting will be held at St Joseph parish church, Msidaon Tuesday from 7.30 to 10 p.m. This monthly meeting consists of the reciting of the rosary followed by Mass and adoration. Priests will be available to hear confessions. There will be a collection of foodstuffs to donate to Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, a Franciscan organisation that cares for the homeless. All are welcome.

• The National Council of Women, together with the Commission on Domestic Violence, Nature Trust Malta and National Youth Council, will be holding a second conference on ‘Strengthening and Encouraging Volunteering – Reaching Out to a Wider Society’ on Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana. • To mark the completion of the first phase of the reconstruction of the Mqabba Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society club premises, situated in Mqabba main square, a weekend of activities is planned starting on Friday with an end of summer gathering at the band club from 8 p.m. There will be a pasta night on Saturday in front of the band club in the main square from 8 p.m. To book call 7985 3044. On Sunday there will be Mass at 10 a.m. at Mqabba parish church to give thanks for the completion of the project. The Mass will be with the participation of Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society. • Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park has joined the global ‘Clean Up the World’ initiative and will be holding a clean-up on Saturday in conjunction with That’s Rubbish and with the support of the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs. • ALPS (Association of Lyceum Past Students) will be resuming Dance to Health lessons on October 1 following the summer recess. These lessons are run by a professional tutor.
