England players are pampered and after their World Cup “disaster” have no chance of winning Euro 2012, former England midfielder Paul Scholes claimed yesterday.

“The England team these days are treated like world superstars from what they do at club level,” Scholes said. “I don’t think that helps when they go to England (duty) because they’re pampered.”

Asked if he could see any prospect of England ending their trophy drought, Scholes replied: “You would always like to say ‘yes’ but at the minute, no I can’t.”
