The Libyan Mirage pilots who defected to Malta on February 21 shall be leaving the island tomorrow morning.

The pilots shall be giving a news conference just before they leave, the Department of Information said.

The two colonels were senior training pilots in Muammar Gaddafi’s air wing. They defected to Malta after they were ordered to attack a village with around 1,300 people.

The pilots flew close to sea level to be off the radar before requesting permission to land at Malta International Airport.
