As part of its on-going commitment to promote the game of tennis, the Tennis Club Kordin (TCK) organises regular training courses for children and adults.
This year’s coaching clinics will commence on October 2 and come to an end on May 27, 2012, TCK said in a statement.
These include sessions for adults wishing to improve their game as well as beginners.
Young children (5 to 8) are first introduced to the game through mini-tennis classes. These consist of mini-courts, taking up only one-quarter of a full-size tennis court per class, equipped with small nets and using soft balls/green spot balls.
After two years at this mini-tennis stage, children are promoted to higher classes where they will concentrate more on the technical aspect of the game.
Aggression and tactical approach are taught later on when the children have mastered the basic techniques of the game.
Those interested in attending the coaching clinics are to apply online by visiting the club’s website www.tennisclubkordin.com.
