Maltapost is issuing a miniature sheet jointly with Iceland Post, featuring fishing villages as its theme. The sheet, issued tomorrow, focuses on villages “which capture an important economic and cultural activity common to both countries,” Maltapost said yesterday. The chosen villages are Húsavík in Iceland and Mġarr in Gozo. Maltese artist Cedric Galea Pirotta was commissioned by both Iceland Post and Maltapost to paint both. The Malta issue is limited to 30,000 sheets bearing a face value of €2.07. The Malta–Iceland miniature sheet and its related stationery will be available at all post offices in Malta and Gozo and from the Philatelic Bureau.
