1 p.m.The President receives Gayane Shiladzhan, chief executive officer of the Moscow City Orchestra ‘Russian Philharmonic’, accompanied by Ambassador of Russia Boris Yu Marchuk, at San Anton Palace.

7 p.m.The President and Mrs Abela inaugurate an exhibition of the last works of art by Joseph Casha (1939-2011) entitled ‘Memories in Clay’ in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund at San Anton Palace.

10.30 a.m. The President receives Prime Minsiter Lawrence Gonzi at the Palace, Valletta.

Noon.The President receives Leader of the Opposition Joseph Muscat at the Palace, Valletta.

8 p.m.The President and Mrs Abela attend a reception in Bidnija hosted by the dean of the Diplomatic Corps, John Gauci-Maistre, in honour of members of the Consular Corps in Malta.
