Marsascala award
Marsascala mayor Mario Calleja presenting the Ġieħ Marsascala award to Andre Abela last Sunday during activities marking Marsascala Day. The award was given to Abela for his support to a dying friend suffering from cancer. In June, Abela was also awarded the Pope John XXIII award for Kindness for the same cause.

Whilst I'm sure this boy merits the award, in my view, the M'scala Council members merit a Gieh l-Inerita. Its members are a JOKE, in my view.
When I wrote to warn them of an accident black spot in Mscala, and urged them to put sleeping policement before a nasty accident happens, the reply was that the Counci "took no position on the matter".
In the end, the secretary deigned to put up a traffick mirror, which is useless really becasue a mirror does not force drivers to slow down their speed , as the obstacle does.
