Over 500 schoolchildren attending SkolaSajf visited St Vincent de Paul residence for the elderly during the summer, chatting with residents and donating books and balls of wool.
The books were placed in a mobile library for the residents’ use and the wool was turned into blankets for the colder months by employees and volunteers at the residence.
Stephen Spiteri, Parliamentary Assistant at the Education Ministry, visited the home along with some of the children and after handing out prizes to the participants visited some of the wards.
This was a joint initiative between SkolaSajf, the ministry, the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Elderly and Community Care and the National Voluntary Council.

I believe the heading should have read "Books and wool for the elderly" given that the school children were in fact donating the gifts to the elderly.
