Mepa said today that it has extended the public consultation process for the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) application for the Delimara Power Station extension by a week.

Enemalta, this week, presented the Environment Directorate with a modelling study entitled 'Prediction of the spread and dilution of cooling water from the Delimara Power Station', which although not a compulsory requirement for the processing of the IPPC application, was deemed relevant to the application.

For this reason the Authority said it is extending the closing date of the public consultation phase from the 30th September to the 7th October 2011.

The public may submit comments to MEPA by sending an email to ippc.consultation@mepa.org.mt or by writing to the Authority.
