In a recent issue, The Times reported how Arriva buses are creating havoc on our roads due to the width of the vehicles conflicting with the width of our roads. In fact, The Times has carried more than one report on this topic.

I had remarked that the Arriva buses might not be street-legal as they are wider than allowed by law. A blogger confirmed this in a reply to my blog entry.

I have invited the editor of The Times to investigate this and would appreciate if readers can be informed whether the Commissioner of Police and/or Transport Malta has been contacted to send in their comment on this issue.

I think this matter is of public interest as every citizen does his best to abide by the law and the same should be done by anyone investing in our island, more so if these investments are heavily subsidised/supported by the government and its agencies.
