It’s that time of year! It’s time to celebrate the new season at the Manoel Theatre. Café Premier, one of the Manoel’s partners for this season, will be ending their great summer musical extravaganza with George Il-Pusé while giving theatre enthusiasts a sneak preview of the Manoel Theatre season tomorrow evening.

On this special celebration night, theatre lovers will have the opportunity to meet some of their favourite actors, scriptwriters, dancers, musicians and singers. The chosen 100 guests will enjoy Café Premier’s new signature pre-performance cocktail and some of the signature platters especially designed for the occasion.

“2011/2012 should be yet another fantastic season for theatre lovers and includes some of Malta’s top talent as well as a number of international guests who will be visiting Malta to perform during this calendar year,” said Ray Attard, chief executive officer of the Manoel Theatre. “We are particularly proud of the fact that our calendar includes a variety of music genres, drama, recitals, baroque concerts, operetta and of course our highly-awaited 2012 opera, Verdi’s Il Trovatore.”

This year, the Manoel Theatre will be embarking on a number of educational programmes for families and schools as well as specific events for theatre enthusiasts such as “Meet the Cast” nights, backstage pass visits and a number of other theatre collaborations which will continue to encourage theatregoers and families to visit the Manoel. “During the summer months we have also confirmed a number of new incentives for ticket holders. Theatre visitors will be able to benefit from a 10 per cent discount at a number of favourite restaurants in Valletta as well as on Malta’s ECAB taxi service. All benefits and collaborations will be included on the Manoel Theatre’s website (section Partners) – and will be communicated to all Manoel newsletter subscribers,” continued Mr Attard.

This season, the Manoel Theatre has also launched an SMS number for people to be able to constantly send their comments, questions, suggestions and ideas. “Number 5061 6161 will give theatre enthusiasts the opportunity to feel closer to our national theatre and play a more important role in our season,” explained Mr Attard. Theatre lovers have the chance of receiving an invite for this celebration. Those who would like to get their names on the guest list may send an e-mail to info@teatrumanoel.com.mt and share why they love Malta’s national theatre.
